ESR Group has announced plans to enter India’s data centre segment with an investment of around ₹900 crore to develop a hyperscale facility in Rabale.
This will be ESR’s first data centre project in the country. The proposed multi-storey, high-capacity facility is designed to cater to growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence workloads, and enterprise data hosting. Industry observers note that the investment reflects the expanding opportunities in India’s data centre ecosystem, driven by rapid digital adoption, data localisation requirements, and increasing demand from technology and cloud service providers.
The Navi Mumbai facility is expected to support substantial power and network infrastructure, reinforcing India’s digital backbone as national data centre capacity continues to expand. With hubs such as Navi Mumbai emerging as key growth centres, ESR’s foray underscores rising institutional investment in India’s digital infrastructure and the sector’s strategic importance in the country’s technology-led growth trajectory.
