Green Tides: AM Green & VOCPA’s ₹2,000 Cr Maritime Revolution

AM Green has partnered with the VO Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) to develop up to 200 KTPA of green ammonia marine bunkering capacity at Thoothukudi by 2029–30, with an estimated investment of ₹2,000 crore. The collaboration follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 28 to establish VOC Port as a strategic hub for green ammonia production and bunkering.

The partnership combines AM Green’s large-scale green ammonia manufacturing capabilities with VOCPA’s expertise in liquid ammonia handling and its status as a National Green Hydrogen Hub. The project is expected to strengthen green fuel infrastructure, support maritime decarbonization, and accelerate the growth of India’s green hydrogen and ammonia ecosystem.
