On 28 July 2025, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a ₹380 crore development package for Ambala, focused on strengthening infrastructure and enhancing civic amenities.
The announcement was made during the state-level Teej festival in Ambala City. A significant portion of the package—₹145 crore—has been allocated to expand the city’s water distribution network, alongside ₹40 crore earmarked for a new 9 MLD (megalitre per day) water treatment plant in Sector 24.
To improve road infrastructure, ₹60 crore will be used to repair damaged stretches along both sides of the Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for nine development projects valued at ₹73 crore, including four completed projects worth ₹26.5 crore and five new projects totalling ₹46.3 crore.
In the sports sector, a synthetic track is planned for the Sector 10 stadium, while ₹35 crore has been approved for drainage improvements in areas such as Model Town, Mathura Nagri, Police Line, and Prem Nagar, where sections of the Model Town drain will be concretised to address waterlogging issues.
