HSIIDC Greenlights ₹490-Crore Water Overhaul for Manesar

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has approved a ₹490-crore integrated water management plan for Manesar to cater to the growing needs of its rapidly urbanising residential and industrial areas.

The project will be implemented in four phases by 2031, with a focus on ensuring reliable supplies of both fresh and recycled water while minimising wastewater discharge into natural drains. Funded initially by HSIIDC, the first two phases will address a water demand of 275 MLD. These phases include the development of modular water treatment plants and the laying of new pipelines to serve residential sectors and adjoining villages.

Water will be sourced from the NCR Channel through twin pipelines running along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, with a new raw water outlet proposed near the Transport Hub. Phase one, scheduled for completion by 2027, includes a 30 MLD water treatment plant to supply IMT Manesar and the Transport Hub. The remaining demand will be met through recycled water, helping offset losses from evaporation and industrial processes.
