Visakhapatnam’s emerging status as a key data centre hub is set to transform the regional economy, creating over 51,800 jobs and driving massive real estate growth, according to a new study by Square Yards.
The report, titled “How India’s Data Centre Revolution Is Rewriting Real Estate,” highlights that the proposed data centre projects will generate 3,240 direct roles and 48,600 allied jobs across sectors like logistics, power, retail, and maintenance. Beyond immediate facilities, the expansion is triggering widespread infrastructure upgrades in fiber connectivity, power supply, and commercial amenities—positioning Visakhapatnam as a central pillar in India's digital economy while generating demand for roughly 2.33 crore sq. ft. of residential real estate.
