India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL) has officially begun its massive external commercial borrowing program, successfully securing an initial USD 200 million.
A key highlight is the plan to raise USD 1 billion in long-term funds (up to 15-year tenors) backed by the MIGA Guarantee Facility. This will empower IIFCL to finance critical, long-gestation infrastructure projects while tapping into international capital pools.
"We remain committed to executing the programme within the stipulated timeframe and supporting the country’s infrastructure financing requirements," says MD Rohit Rishi.
