PVR INOX Lights Up Agra with New Luxury Cinema

PVR INOX Limited, one of India’s leading cinema exhibition companies, has expanded its footprint with the launch of a premium 4-screen multiplex in Agra, the iconic “City of Love.” Located at Anjana Central on MG Road, the new property opened with the screening of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, marking a notable addition to the city’s evolving entertainment landscape.

This launch reflects Agra’s growing prominence as an emerging urban hub and aligns with broader economic aspirations by introducing a nationally recognized brand into its retail and leisure ecosystem. The multiplex is also poised to enrich the city’s tourism appeal, offering visitors a sophisticated evening experience that complements Agra’s hospitality sector and encourages longer stays.

Conceptualized as a contemporary “social hub,” the cinema seamlessly blends modern design with subtle cultural influences. The interiors feature a refined palette of beige and deep green, accented with natural greenery across foyers and concession areas. A fluid layout connects auditoriums, lounges, and dining spaces, creating a cohesive and inviting environment. Each auditorium is uniquely styled with distinct colour themes, fabric-finished walls, and elegant cove lighting, alongside advanced technologies such as RGB laser projection, Dolby 7.1 sound with HARMAN (JBL) speakers, and next-generation 3D systems. Premium recliner seating and a thoughtfully curated gourmet menu further elevate the viewing experience.

Beyond entertainment, the project supports local entrepreneurship through the Franchise-Owned Company-Operated (FOCO) model, enabling collaboration with Agra-based business partners while generating employment opportunities in hospitality and technical roles for the city’s youth.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Pramod Arora, CEO – Growth & Investment at PVR INOX Limited, said that Agra represents a key step in the company’s expansion into high-potential markets where demand for premium, experience-driven cinema is on the rise. He emphasized that the FOCO model allows PVR INOX to combine strong local partnerships with its global standards in technology, design, and service.

With this addition, PVR INOX now operates 147 screens across 29 properties in Uttar Pradesh and 483 screens across 102 properties in North India. Overall, the company has a network of 1,799 screens across 359 properties in 114 cities across India and Sri Lanka, reinforcing its leadership in the cinema exhibition industry.

The new multiplex positions Agra as a contemporary entertainment destination, bringing together cinema, culture, and community in a world-class setting.
