RITES Unveils Transformed Ayodhya Dham Junction

RITES has successfully overseen the transformation of the Ayodhya Dham Junction railway station in Uttar Pradesh, bringing its expertise to modernize both the station building and its surrounding areas.

Inspired by the architectural design of the Ram Mandir, the newly inaugurated station is poised to accommodate over 21 million passengers annually, boasting a peak capacity of 5,930 people per hour. Notable features of the station include its accessibility, eco-friendly design, and innovative amenities. With triple-height atriums that allow for ample natural light, along with 12 lifts and 14 escalators, the station aims to enhance the overall travel experience for its visitors. Moreover, the station has been officially certified as both 'Accessible for All' and a 'Green Station' by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

By enhancing the infrastructure and facilities, RITES has played a significant role in preparing Ayodhya to welcome the anticipated influx of pilgrims and tourists.

In addition to the Ayodhya project, RITES is also leading the redevelopment efforts at the Varanasi railway station. Furthermore, the company is actively involved in similar initiatives at the Kollam station in Kerala and the Somnath railway station in Gujarat.

RITES, a central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, specializes in transport consultancy and engineering services within India and beyond. With a diverse portfolio spanning over 55 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, South America, and the Middle East, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing transportation infrastructure globally.
