Andhra Pradesh Minister BC Janardhan Reddy shared updates on several key infrastructure projects during a press conference held at the Collectorate. He announced that over 50 percent of the Bandaru Port project in Machilipatnam has been completed, with ₹1,760 crore already spent and the remaining work expected to be finished by December.
Highlighting the state’s strong focus on road development, the Minister said that road construction and repair works worth ₹3,380 crore were completed across Andhra Pradesh within a year. In the Machilipatnam constituency alone, projects worth ₹33 crore covering 166 kilometres have been completed, reflecting significant progress in connectivity improvements.
He further noted that road repair and pothole-filling works across the state amounted to ₹1,081 crore, with Krishna district accounting for repairs on 1,518 kilometres of roads. Addressing port-related infrastructure, the Minister added that the Gilakaladindi fishing harbour, despite facing technical challenges, remains on track for completion and will be named after former minister Nadikuditi Narasimha Rao.
