The Gujarat government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Taiwan-based Allegiance International Co. to develop an Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park in the Sanand–Dholera region, with the aim of strengthening the state’s semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
The agreement was signed between the Department of Science and Technology, Gujarat, and Allegiance International in the presence of senior state officials and industry representatives. The proposed industrial park is expected to attract over ₹1,000 crore in foreign direct investment (FDI) from Taiwanese companies over the next five years and generate approximately 12,000 direct jobs.
The facility will focus on semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, and allied high-technology sectors, aligning with India’s broader semiconductor mission and push for self-reliance in advanced manufacturing.
Gujarat, which is positioning itself as a leading hub for high-end industrial development, already has projects worth over ₹1.24 lakh crore under execution. The new initiative is expected to deepen industrial collaboration between India and Taiwan and enhance supply chain integration across sectors such as electronics, electric vehicles, robotics, and advanced components.
Officials said the industrial park will further strengthen business linkages between Indian and Taiwanese enterprises while boosting the state’s high-tech manufacturing capabilities.
