Smart Water for Vizag: A ₹1,838 Crore Infrastructure Leap

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to visit Visakhapatnam to spearhead a major infrastructural upgrade, launching and laying foundation stones for five major water supply and urban development projects worth a combined ₹1,838 crore.

The visit features groundbreaking ceremonies for four crucial initiatives, headlined by a ₹725-crore 24/7 water supply project for the Madhurawada Zone and surrounding areas under the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF). Other foundation-stone projects include a UCF-backed initiative to optimize bulk water networks using advanced SCADA technology, and a ₹150-crore industrial water supply pipeline developed via a public-private partnership (PPP) under AMRUT 2.0.

Additionally, CM Naidu will officially inaugurate the Non-Revenue Water Reduction and 24/7 Water Supply project, a key intervention designed to plug leakage losses and drastically upgrade efficiency across the city’s water distribution grid.
