Sonoco Launches Global Center in Hyderabad

Sonoco Products Company, a leading US-based packaging solutions provider, has unveiled a global capability center (GCC) in Hyderabad aimed at advancing packaging design and manufacturing through data analytics, automation, and cutting-edge technologies.

The NYSE-listed company will invest up to USD 10 million in the initial phase of this innovation hub, underscoring its commitment to digital transformation, technological leadership, and sustainability. Sonoco plans to recruit 300 technologists within the next 12 to 18 months, with an eventual goal of expanding the workforce to 500 employees over the next three years.

CEO Howard Coker highlighted that the new hub will focus on developing sustainable packaging solutions and provide significant opportunities for local talent in technology and manufacturing. Hyderabad was selected for its strong, growing tech ecosystem.
