Subsea & Scalable: Tata’s New India-Singapore Data Links

Tata Communications is expanding its global digital infrastructure with new investments in subsea cable systems connecting India and Singapore, reinforcing high-capacity connectivity to support the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, cloud services, and data centers.

As part of the expansion, the company will integrate a new subsea cable linking Mumbai and Singapore into its Tata Global Network while also participating in a consortium developing another cable between Chennai and Singapore. The consortium-led cable is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2029, further strengthening international connectivity and network resilience.

The investment aligns with the rising demand for high-speed, reliable bandwidth as India's data center sector continues to expand, fueled by increasing AI adoption, cloud computing, and digital transformation. By enhancing connectivity between key regional data hubs, the new subsea cable systems are expected to provide enterprises with scalable, future-ready network infrastructure for seamless cross-border data transmission.According to the company, these investments are aimed at meeting the evolving requirements of the data center ecosystem by delivering resilient, high-capacity connectivity between India and Singapore.
