Tata Electronics, a leading force in India’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing space, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Merck, a global leader in science and technology, to collaborate on building India’s semiconductor materials and infrastructure capabilities.
Announced on 2 August 2025, the partnership focuses on supporting Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, through:
High-purity electronic materials, Advanced chemical and gas delivery systems, Turnkey fab infrastructure services, AI-powered Material Intelligence solutions
The collaboration also includes:
Knowledge-sharing on safety, operational excellence, and fab best practices, Use of Athinia, Merck’s secure data platform, for industry-wide data collaboration, Development of localized warehousing, supply chains, and talent pipelines, Joint efforts to establish semiconductor industry standards in India
