Tata Projects has won a contract valued at ₹690.22 crore for the development of an 800 kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission system in Rajasthan. Under Transmission Line Package TL03, the company will build a ±800 kV HVDC bipole transmission line from Barmer-II to South Kalamb (Part III).
The project is a key component of the transmission network designed to evacuate power from Phase IV (Part 5) of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), supporting a 6 GW capacity complex in Barmer. Once complete, it will enhance grid stability, increase inter-regional power transfer capacity, and streamline the delivery of clean energy across India.
