Titagarh Naval Systems Ltd (TNSL) has received in-principle approval from the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for its proposed brownfield expansion project at Falta in West Bengal.
The project, to be undertaken under the Centre’s Shipbuilding Development Scheme, entails an investment of approximately ₹610 crore and is aimed at enhancing the company’s shipbuilding and maritime manufacturing capabilities, as per a regulatory filing.
Under the scheme, the government will extend capital assistance of around ₹129 crore towards eligible plant and machinery, subject to compliance with prescribed guidelines. The expansion is expected to strengthen domestic shipbuilding capacity and support the overall growth of India’s maritime sector.
