Welspun Michigan Engineers (WMEL), in a joint venture with Aaradhyaa & Co., has secured a work order from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for upgrading the Haji Ali Storm Water Pumping Station in Mumbai’s G/S Ward.
Valued at ₹328.12 crore, the project includes engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work, followed by 15 years of operations and maintenance (O&M). Execution is set to begin on October 1, 2025, with an 18-month completion timeline (excluding the monsoon period). WMEL holds a 75% stake in the contract, amounting to ₹208.55 crore—₹93.59 crore for EPC and ₹114.96 crore for O&M. With this addition, WMEL’s order book now stands at ₹2,915.42 crore, further solidifying its portfolio.
The project scope includes the supply, installation, commissioning of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems, along with necessary civil repairs. This modernization effort will enhance Mumbai’s flood management infrastructure, reinforcing WMEL’s commitment to urban water management projects.
