REC & Kerala: Powering Up with ₹18,360 Crore PSP Deal

REC, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, has signed an MoU with the Energy Management Centre (EMC), Government of Kerala, to collaborate on and finance pumped storage projects (PSPs) in the state.

The agreement, signed during the Global Green Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Summit 2025, commits REC to financing ₹18,360 crore in the PSP segment over the next five years.

The Government of Kerala is organizing the summit in Kochi on March 12-13, 2025, with support from the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and EMC. EMC functions as an autonomous institution under the Department of Power, Government of Kerala.
