The Water Resources Department (WRD) of Maharashtra has issued a tender for a major lift irrigation scheme (LIS) under Phase I of the Lower Penganga Project, a key initiative aimed at expanding irrigation coverage and improving water resource management in the state.
The scope of work includes the construction of an approach channel, pump house, installation of pumping machinery, rising main with manifolds, gravity main, anti-surge systems, delivery chambers, mechanical works, approach roads, and other associated infrastructure. This integrated package is designed to ensure the efficient lifting and distribution of water from the Penganga River to surrounding agricultural zones.
The estimated value of the contract stands at ₹1,915.24 crore. The project is expected to play a vital role in boosting agricultural productivity and supporting sustainable water use across the region.
The last date for bid submission is 04 August 2025.
