₹18,400 Crore Vision: Srihari Reviews Zaffergadh Irrigation

Station Ghanpur MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari visited a Devadula Project Phase village in Zaffergadh Mandal of Jangaon district, Telangana, on 08 January 2026.

During the visit, the MLA urged farmers to cooperate with the land acquisition process and directed irrigation officials to carry out repairs to the Damsa canal and local irrigation tanks. He also proposed linking the Dadays to the Palakurthi main canal to ensure year-round irrigation. Reiterating his commitment to the project, Srihari said he aims to complete the remaining works by June 2027 and ensure irrigation water reaches every acre of land.

Recalling his role in initiating the Devadula project in 2003–04 as the then irrigation minister, Srihari highlighted how the initiative transformed Jangaon into a major rice-producing region. He emphasized that his priority remains supplying Godavari water to every village in his constituency.

The Devadula project, originally planned to irrigate six lakh acres, now has a revised budget of ₹18,400 crore. Under Package-6, the project is expected to irrigate about 10,000 acres in Zaffergadh Mandal.
