Star Cement Wins Major Limestone Mine Bid in Assam

Star Cement Limited has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Boro Lakhindong (West Block) limestone mine in Assam following a successful state government e-auction.

Spanning 123 hectares in the Dima Hasao district (Umrangso tehsil), the strategic block boasts an estimated 207.82 million tonnes of limestone resources. This win secures vital long-term raw material reserves for Star Cement, fortifying its domestic resource base and paving the way for future capacity expansions. The final mining lease remains subject to standard statutory and regulatory approvals.
