Asian Energy Services has made a significant onshore oil discovery at its Mevad Field in Gujarat after drilling well NM-01 to a depth of 1,650 metres.
The well has demonstrated potential peak production of approximately 125–130 barrels of oil per day (bopd), with current output at around 100 bopd from the Sobhasan sand interval. During drilling, three hydrocarbon-bearing sand layers—Mandhali, Sobhasan, and Kalol—were encountered and are being evaluated in a phased manner.
Commenting on the discovery, Kapil Garg, Managing Director of Asian Energy Services, said, “Oil produced from the Mevad well will be supplied to domestic refineries under offtake arrangements, with crude pricing linked to the Brent benchmark.”
The discovery is expected to strengthen the company’s domestic oil production portfolio, generate incremental cash flows, and support its strategy of disciplined resource development. Further drilling activities are planned to assess the full potential of the reservoir.
