Hindustan Copper Secures Green Light for Chandmari Project

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has reached a major regulatory milestone, securing official forest clearance for its Chandmari copper mine in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Granted by the state's Forest Department via a letter dated June 19, 2026 (received June 23, 2026), the approval remains valid for the entire lease period. This provides long-term operational certainty and paves the way for uninterrupted mining operations and future development at the site.

As India looks to boost its self-reliance in critical mineral resources, this development significantly strengthens HCL’s expansion plans and enhances domestic copper production capacity to meet rising nationwide demand.
