Kalyanpur Cements Unearths Limestone Potential in Bihar

Kalyanpur Cements Limited is in the process of establishing a new Limestone Project at Murli-Pahari, Rohtas, Bihar. This initiative, estimated at Rs. 28 Crores, is focused on extracting 10 Lakh Tonnes per Annum (Lakh TPA) of limestone, targeting mining and processing operations in the region. Currently, the project is under the approval stage, awaiting necessary permits before commencing.

The project entails mining and processing limestone deposits at Murli-Pahari, serving as a vital raw material for cement production at Kalyanpur Cements Limited's existing plant or potentially being supplied to other cement manufacturers. It also holds promise for employment generation across mining, transportation, and processing sectors, potentially contributing to the region's infrastructure development and increasing revenue for the state government through taxes and royalties.

However, concerns loom regarding potential environmental impacts such as dust pollution, soil erosion, and water resource depletion due to mining activities. Additionally, there's apprehension about the social repercussions involving the displacement of local communities and the disruption of their traditional livelihoods.

Presently, the project is in the approval phase, awaiting environmental clearance and other essential permits before advancing further. Addressing environmental and social concerns stands as a crucial step in ensuring the sustainable execution of this initiative as it progresses toward realization.
