Nayara Energy Limited's petrochemical business will grow with the Vadinar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gujarat Polypropylene Plant Project. Nayara Energy's capabilities will be transformed by the 20 crore project's 450,000 TPA Propylene Recovery Unit (PRU), 450,000 TPA Polypropylene Plant, and 200,000 TPA MTBE Plant.
Propylene, a precursor to polypropylene, is extracted from the refinery's fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) facility by the PRU. This propylene will be used by the Polypropylene Plant to create packaging, vehicle components, textiles, and more. Methyl tertiary-butyl ether, a gasoline additive that increases octane and decreases pollution, will be produced at the MTBE
Multiple areas will change with the project. It will improve Nayara Energy's petrochemical production, strengthening its Indian market position. Faster propylene output from the refinery's FCC unit into the polypropylene plant enhances feedstock integration, improving resource availability and cutting costs.
Employment and industrial development from this project may boost the regional economy. Job growth from the project will help locals. Its rise promotes import substitution, which helps national goals. Indian polypropylene and MTBE production would rise to reduce imports, boosting petrochemical industry resilien.
As on December 2023, The project is now in the stage of construction being started. The completion of the project's work has reached the 20% mark. The work on the project will be finished by December of 2024.
