NMDC Mines Gold in February: Highest-Ever Production Achieved

The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) set a new production record in February, achieving 4.62 million tonnes—an 18% increase from the same month last year. This marks the company’s highest-ever output for February. NMDC also recorded sales of 3.98 million tonnes during the period.

For the financial year up to February, cumulative production reached 40.49 million tonnes, while sales stood at 40.20 million tonnes.

Chairman and Managing Director (Additional Charge) Amitava Mukherjee emphasized NMDC’s operational momentum, crediting the growth to an efficient mining ecosystem. “We are advancing with an ambitious expansion plan and exploring new opportunities to strengthen India’s self-reliance,” he stated.

NMDC remains committed to achieving a 100-million-tonne iron ore mining capacity by 2030, backed by a substantial capital expenditure plan.
