Rajasthan is set to launch 37 new mineral exploration projects in 2026–27, targeting a range of resources including limestone, ferrous metals, decorative stones, and rare earth elements.
The announcement came during a meeting of the State Geological Programming Board, which also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects. Exploration activities will be carried out in partnership with central and state agencies, including the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD), and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Ltd. (MECL). Key focus areas include the Sivana Ring, Rohila, and Bikaner-Nagaur belt, leveraging Rajasthan’s rich mineral reserves.
For 2026–27, GSI plans 80 exploration projects, with nearly half dedicated to critical and strategic minerals. The state government aims to strengthen coordination among agencies to avoid duplication and ensure high-quality geological data.
