RVRUNL's Sustainable Energy Solution for Rajasthan

RVRUNL's pioneering proposal to build two Ultra Supercritical Coal Power Units (USC) in Chhabra, Baran district, Rajasthan, would change the company. This massive project, expected to cost Rs. 9606 crores, is a major step toward Rajasthan's goal of increasing its power generating capacity and meeting its energy needs.

Two USC units (Unit 7 & 8), each with 660 MW of capacity, will be built at Chhabra, Baran district, Rajasthan, adding 1320 MW to Rajasthan's electricity system. This important addition will alleviate Rajasthan's power shortfall, providing more steady electricity for citizens and growing industry.

The project has potential beyond electricity production. It is expected to boost economic growth and create many jobs throughout building and operation. This increase in jobs will boost the region's economy and provide wealth to the locals.

It will boost electricity generation and infrastructural development. Infrastructure improvements including upgraded roads, water supply, and transmission lines will help neighboring towns, increase connection, and boost growth.

The Chhabra USC Power Plant will begin construction in 2024 and finish in 2028, with Unit 7 ready in 2027 and Unit 8 in 2028. RRVUNL emphasizes responsible development by using sophisticated emission control technology and following rigorous environmental standards to reduce the project's environmental effect.

Rajasthan's Chhabra USC Power Plant shows its dedication to power production innovation and economic growth. While environmental problems need constant attention, the project's focus on cutting-edge USC technology reflects Rajasthan's commitment to sustainable and responsible energy production.

As on December 2023, The project is now in the stage of receiving approvals. The project has received all necessary clearances.
