On November 11, 2025, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) inaugurated Coal India’s first paste filling technology project at the Singhali underground mine in the Korba Area of Chhattisgarh.
The ceremony, attended by SECL officials and employees, was led by Harish Duhan, CMD of SECL, and marked a key step toward safer and more eco-friendly underground mining. The project uses a paste mixture of fly ash, tailings, and cement to fill mine voids, enhancing underground stability while reducing surface waste and environmental impact.
This initiative reflects Coal India’s commitment to greener mining practices and underscores SECL’s dedication to responsible resource management and environmental sustainability.
