SECL x CWC: Driving Efficiency in India's Coal Logistics

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) to enhance coal transportation, railway rake availability, and integrated logistics services across India.

The partnership supports the Ministry of Coal’s vision of strengthening energy security and improving coal evacuation infrastructure. Under the agreement, both organisations will collaborate on the provisioning and operation of GPWIS/equivalent railway rakes, integrated coal transportation solutions, multimodal logistics services, and improved first-mile and last-mile connectivity. The initiative will also leverage digital technologies to enhance logistics monitoring and operational efficiency.

The strategic collaboration is expected to streamline coal dispatch operations, reduce transportation bottlenecks, and establish long-term logistics solutions for efficient coal movement nationwide. The MoU was signed in the presence of Harish Duhan and Santosh Sinha.

As the second-largest coal-producing subsidiary of Coal India, SECL continues to undertake initiatives aimed at improving dispatch efficiency and ensuring a reliable fuel supply to key sectors, including power generation, steel manufacturing, and cement production.
