Tirupati Earth and Project Work intends to open a new granite mining operation in Rajasthan

Tirupati Earth and Project Work Private Limited (TEPWPL) intends to open a new granite mining operation in Katar Village, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The facility will be built on a 1.0518 hectare block of land and will have a raw material (ROM) production capacity of 113501 tonnes per annum (TPA). The project's budget is 1 crore.

The project is currently in the planning stage and TEPWPL is seeking environmental clearance from the Rajasthan State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA). Once the environmental clearance is granted, TEPWPL will begin construction of the mine and associated infrastructure.

The project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities for the local community. TEPWPL has committed to hiring at least 70% of its workforce from the local area. The project will also contribute to the economic development of the region through the generation of tax revenue and royalties.

However, there are also some concerns about the potential environmental impacts of the project. Granite mining can have a significant impact on the local environment, including:

  • Air pollution from dust and emissions from mining equipment
  • Water pollution from runoff from the mine site
  • Noise pollution from mining activities
  • Habitat destruction and fragmentation

TEPWPL has proposed a number of mitigation measures to address these concerns, including:

  • Regular watering of the mine site to suppress dust
  • Use of pollution control equipment on mining equipment
  • Construction of a sedimentation pond to trap pollutants before they enter nearby water bodies
  • Planting of trees and shrubs around the mine site to reduce noise and air pollution

TEPWPL has also committed to restoring the mine site to its original condition once mining operations are complete.

Overall, the new granite mining project at Katar Village has the potential to generate significant economic benefits for the local community. However, it is important to carefully manage the environmental impacts of the project to ensure that they are minimized.

The project is now in the stage of construction being started. The completion of the project's work has reached the 70% mark. The work on the project will be finished by February of 2024.
