Vedanta has acquired two offshore blocks—one shallow-water and one deep-water—in the Krishna Godavari (KG) Basin as part of the fourth Discovered Small Field (DSF) bidding round. The new acreage allows the company to explore the region’s hydrocarbon potential, with resource estimations contingent on future technical evaluations.
According to Jim Johnny Gast, Interim CEO and Whole-Time Director of Vedanta Oil & Gas, the firm will utilize its operational strength and partnerships for responsible development. The awards support India’s Samudra Manthan initiative aimed at boosting domestic exploration and national energy security.
