Chemex Global is an Indian pharmaceutical company that is planning to open up a new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) project at Kokjhar, Kamrup, Assam. The initiative is in its earliest stages of development and completion is anticipated within 24 months. The API project will have a production capacity of 3,486 metric tons per year (MTPA) and will produce an assortment of APIs, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines, and anti-cancer drugs. Cost of the project is 32 billion. The endeavour is anticipated to generate approximately 100 permanent and temporary employment opportunities. The API initiative is an important development for the pharmaceutical industry in Assam, and it is anticipated that it will attract additional API manufacturers to the state.
