Rishi Industries is spearheading an ambitious project in Panoli, Bharuch, Gujarat, establishing a state-of-the-art Bulk Drugs Intermediates Manufacturing Unit. With an estimated cost of â 8 Crores (approximately $974,640 USD), this venture aims to produce API - Bulk drugs and its intermediates, contributing significantly to India's pharmaceutical industry. As of March 2021, the project has progressed through the environmental clearance process, yet specific details regarding the land area remain undisclosed.
Water use is 25.2 KLD, with natural gas, coal, and diesel powering the manufacturing unit. The unit will create industrial wastewater (11.5 KLD) and household wastewater (0.5 KLD), although the Environmental Management System and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) for industrial wastewater are still being developed. Flue gas emissions from boilers, thermic fluid heaters, and DG sets and process gas emissions from reaction vessels also contribute to the project's environmental effect.
Rishi Industries' endeavor is anticipated to yield multiple benefits, including increased domestic production of bulk drugs and intermediates, fostering revenue through exports, and contributing to job creation in the region.
As on December 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
