Adani Group's green energy subsidiary, Adani Green Energy (AGEL), has successfully activated 551 MW of solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat, contributing power to the national grid. Achieving this milestone within just 12 months of initiating work on the Khavda renewable energy (RE) park, AGEL has focused on establishing essential infrastructure such as roads and connectivity, while fostering a self-sufficient social ecosystem.
AGEL has ambitious plans to further develop the Khavda RE park, aiming to reach an impressive 30 GW of renewable energy capacity. Situated in a region abundant with both wind and solar resources, the park presents an ideal opportunity for large-scale RE development. This planned capacity is projected to come online within the next five years, with the potential to power approximately 16.1 million homes annually.
This initiative underscores Adani Group's dedication to accelerating India's transition towards equitable clean energy, aligning with the nation's targets of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and striving for carbon neutrality. Through the deployment of innovative solutions, the group is actively contributing to the establishment of a sustainable supply chain.
Upon completion, the Khavda RE park is poised to become the largest RE installation globally, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of clean energy initiatives.
