Hindustan Power has secured a 150 MW solar-plus-battery storage project under SECI’s ISTS–XX tender, marking a major addition to its renewable energy portfolio.
The project will deploy 300 MWp of solar capacity along with 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to strengthen grid reliability and ensure flexible clean power delivery. Chairman Ratul Puri highlighted the company’s focus on storage-led renewable assets, stating: “This project reflects our commitment to advancing India’s transition toward a modern, flexible and future-ready energy ecosystem. Our priority is to build assets that enhance stability and efficiency, supporting the nation’s clean-energy ambitions.”
The win follows a competitive bidding process and adds to Hindustan Power’s growing pipeline, which includes a 435 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh, a 100 MW solar project with 100 MW of storage in Assam, and a 120 MWh storage project in Bihar. Together, these initiatives reinforce the company’s role in supporting India’s long-term renewable energy goals.
