Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently inaugurated, via virtual link, power generation from Unit-1 of the 2×660 MW supercritical thermal power plant at Udangudi in Thoothukudi district, developed at a cost of ₹13,077 crore.
The plant has been built by the Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited.
According to the company, electricity generated from the plant will be integrated into the state power grid through a 400-kV gas-insulated substation, enhancing the energy infrastructure and supply reliability in the region.
