On 28 July 2025, HG Infra Engineering Ltd. (HGIEL) formally acquired the Angul Sundargarh Transmission project from bid process coordinator PFC Consulting, marking the company’s entry into the inter-state transmission system – tariff-based competitive bidding (ISTS-TBCB) segment.
HGIEL won the project with an annual transmission charge of ₹431.11 million, outperforming Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and Tata Power. Part of the Eastern Region Generation Scheme-I (ERGS-I), the project involves creating a line-in line-out (LILO) of both circuits of the existing 2xS/C 765kV Angul-Sundargarh lines at the Talabira power plant switchyard of NLC India in Odisha.
Estimated at ₹413 crore, the project is slated for completion by March 2028. HGIEL’s win joins four other ISTS-TBCB awards this fiscal year, alongside Adani Energy Solutions, PGCIL, Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon, and Resonia.
This award marks a strategic milestone for HGIEL, establishing its foothold in the competitive high-voltage transmission market and positioning it for future growth in India’s power infrastructure sector.
