Adani Power Doubles Down on Nuclear with CMAEL Incorporation

Adani Power has advanced its entry into the nuclear energy space with the incorporation of a new step-down wholly owned subsidiary, Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Ltd (CMAEL), which will focus on the generation, transmission, and distribution of nuclear power.

According to a regulatory filing, CMAEL has been incorporated by Adani Atomic Energy Ltd (AAEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power. This development follows the company’s earlier move on February 12 to establish AAEL as its dedicated vehicle for entering the nuclear power segment.

CMAEL was incorporated on April 13, with the certificate of incorporation received on April 18. The entity has an authorised capital of ₹5 lakh, comprising 50,000 equity shares of ₹10 each, subscribed in cash.

The filing added that CMAEL is fully owned by AAEL, making it a step-down subsidiary of Adani Power, as the group continues to build its presence in the nuclear energy sector.
