Assam’s Energy Surge: Adani’s ₹48,000 Cr Power Play

Adani Power has initiated construction on a landmark 3,200 MW thermal power project in Dhubri district's Chapar region, representing a capital outlay of Rs 48,000 crore. As the Northeast's largest upcoming power generation facility, the project reinforces the conglomerate's multi-sector growth in Assam—which currently includes energy, transport, and manufacturing. With nearly Rs 80,000 crore in total investments underway, the initiative has already fostered local economic development by employing approximately 4,500 residents.
