Bajel Projects Energizes the Future: 400 kV Line Now Live!

Bajel Projects has successfully charged and commissioned the 400 kV Ananthpuram–Kurnool transmission line in Andhra Pradesh, marking a key milestone in strengthening the region’s power grid.

The “TL01 – Ananthpuram–Kurnool 400 kV double-circuit line” was officially energised on 26 December 2025. The project enhances the regional power corridor and is expected to improve grid reliability and stability to meet growing electricity demand in the Ananthpuram and Kurnool districts.

The transmission line is part of an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)–Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) project awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) through its subsidiary, Powergrid Ananthpuram Kurnool Transmission. It connects the Ananthpuram Pooling Station to the Kurnool-III Pooling Station.

As part of the execution, Bajel Projects completed the erection of 222 high-tension towers and the stringing of 171 circuit kilometres of conductor. In a statement, the company said the successful commissioning underscores its engineering capabilities and reinforces its role in advancing India’s national power grid modernisation efforts.
