BHEL Secures Massive Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured a significant Rs 13,300 crore contract to establish a 1,600 MW thermal power plant in Koderma, Jharkhand. This project, commissioned by Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), involves the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the Koderma Thermal Power Station, which will consist of two 800 MW units.

The initiative aligns with the central government's energy security objectives, aiming to enhance the nation's power infrastructure. By adding this substantial capacity, DVC's total installed thermal generation capacity will reach 8,140 MW by 2030, marking a significant milestone in India's energy sector.

This project is anticipated to have a considerable positive impact on the local economy, providing numerous job opportunities and boosting economic activities in the region. The increased power generation capacity is also expected to support industrial growth and development in Jharkhand.

BHEL's expertise in executing large-scale power projects will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient completion of the Koderma Thermal Power Station. The success of this project will further solidify BHEL's position as a leading player in the Indian power sector.
