Brookfield's $100B India Bet: Fueling a Clean Energy Future

Brookfield Asset Management plans to invest more than USD 100 billion in India over the next five years, reflecting its growing commitment to the country's clean energy transition. The global firm, which manages close to USD 1 trillion in assets, sees India as a future clean energy leader and aims to double its overall assets under management (AUM) in the same period.

President Connor Teskey highlighted nuclear energy’s role as a clean, reliable baseload power source. Brookfield, which owns Westinghouse Nuclear, is actively exploring investment opportunities in the nuclear sector.

Since 2014, Brookfield has invested USD 30 billion in India across sectors such as infrastructure, real estate, renewables, and private equity. It continues to focus on high-potential areas like digital infrastructure, transportation, utilities, and manufacturing.

The firm is also a key player in India's commercial real estate market and owns Leela Hotels, underlining its long-term commitment to critical, high-quality assets in the country.
