BSES Rajdhani Power (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power (BYPL) have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to enhance Delhi’s power sector through renewable energy integration, advanced energy storage, and smart grid technologies.
The MoUs were signed by BRPL CEO Abhishek Ranjan, BYPL CEO Amarjeet Singh, and TERI Director General Dr. Vibha Dhawan, in the presence of BSES Director and Group CEO Amal Sinha and senior officials from both organizations.
This three-year partnership aims to accelerate Delhi’s energy transition by driving sustainability, operational efficiency, and consumer-centric innovation. Key focus areas include the integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), development of grid-scale energy storage, and expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure.
The collaboration will also advance the deployment of smart grid technologies, digital twins, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning to modernize power distribution. Emphasis will be placed on energy efficiency and demand-side management.
By providing utility-level operational data, BSES will support TERI’s research to enhance energy security, grid reliability, and service quality in the National Capital Region (NCR). Together, BSES and TERI aim to position Delhi as a leading example of sustainable urban energy management, aligning with India’s broader climate and energy goals.
