DVC CIL Power & L&T Team Up for 1,600 MW Chandrapura Project!

DVC CIL Power, a 50:50 joint venture between Damodar Valley Corporation and Coal India, has taken a major step forward by signing a Limited Notice to Proceed with L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions. The agreement covers the main plant package for the 2x800 MW Chandrapura Thermal Power Station in Jharkhand.

Powered by advanced ultra-supercritical technology, the 1,600 MW plant is designed to optimize thermal efficiency and reduce specific emissions. L&T will oversee the comprehensive engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of key infrastructure, including high-efficiency boilers and steam turbines. The project will progress to full-scale execution upon fulfilling key prerequisites, including statutory environmental clearances.
