Prostarm Info Systems, a Navi Mumbai-based manufacturer of UPS and inverters, has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) on 16 June 2025 for the development of a 30 MW/120 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) across multiple Grid Sub-Station (GSS) locations under Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL).
The project will be implemented under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support, following the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model for a duration of 12 years. The BESS will be provided on a rental basis at a rate of Rs. 4.44 lakh/MW/month, amounting to an annual rental value of approximately Rs. 15.98 crore for the entire 30 MW capacity.
The full commissioning of the project is scheduled for completion within 18 months from the effective date of the Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA).
