India's First Green Hydrogen for Glass Takes Off with INOXAP

INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has launched its first green hydrogen manufacturing plant at Asahi India Glass’ (AIS) greenfield float glass facility in Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.

This marks India’s first use of green hydrogen in float glass production, supporting sustainable manufacturing. Under a 20-year offtake agreement, INOXAP will supply AIS with green hydrogen, produced through electrolysis powered by solar energy. The plant has a total capacity of up to 190 TPA, with an initial phase supplying 95 TPA.

AIS has also invested in a solar power plant to provide renewable energy for hydrogen production. INOXAP Managing Director Siddharth Jain stated, “Our first green hydrogen plant is also India’s first ever green hydrogen plant for the float glass sector.”

Developed in collaboration with AGC Europe, AIS’s Chittorgarh facility specializes in high-quality float glass for automotive and architectural applications.
