Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has approved a ₹485.04 crore technology modernization project to upgrade its Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and related systems across the National Transmission Asset Management Centre (NTAMC) and Regional Transmission Asset Management Centres (RTAMCs).
The project, approved by the company's Board of Directors, aims to enhance grid monitoring, asset management, and operational control capabilities across India's transmission network. The upgraded infrastructure will provide improved real-time visibility, advanced monitoring tools, faster decision-making, and greater system reliability, supporting more efficient management of transmission assets and network performance.
The initiative is expected to strengthen PGCIL’s technology-driven transmission ecosystem, enabling reliable and efficient power flow while supporting future growth in electricity demand. Additionally, the Board has approved an overseas borrowing facility to help meet the company's funding requirements.
