New Delhi-based Shivalaya Construction is making its entry into the power transmission sector, marking a strategic diversification beyond its core focus on roads and highways.
The company has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) for the Ananthapuram-II Power Transmission Project, a part of the interstate transmission system (ISTS) in Andhra Pradesh. The LoI was issued on 23 September 2025, and the formal transfer of the project’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is expected by mid-October, pending approvals from the Union Ministry of Power.
Shivalaya secured the project through an e-reverse auction, with a quoted annual tariff of approximately ₹320 crore. The total estimated project cost stands at ₹3,300 crore, with a targeted completion timeline of 24–30 months.
Key components of the project include:
Development of a new 765/400 kV CN’Halli substation, Augmentation works at the existing Ananthapuram-II Pooling Station
This win signals Shivalaya’s foray into the power sector, expanding its EPC portfolio and reinforcing its long-term infrastructure development strategy across India.
