REC Power Development and Consultancy (REC PDCL) and Bihar State Power Transmission Company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop intra-state transmission projects in Bihar through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) model.
The collaboration aims to build a modern, reliable, and future-ready power transmission network to address Bihar’s growing electricity demand and support industrial development across the state.
Shailesh Kumar, also known as Bulo Mandal, said robust transmission infrastructure will play a key role in achieving Bihar’s industrial growth targets for 2025–30 and ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
The initiative is expected to improve transparency in project allocation through competitive bidding, accelerate project execution, and modernise the state’s transmission infrastructure. It is also expected to encourage greater private sector participation and investment, helping create a more resilient and power-secure Bihar.
Senior officials present during the MoU signing included Ajay Yadav, Prince Dhawan, and Rahul Kumar, along with representatives from the Bihar government, BSPHCL, and various energy sector agencies.
The agreement is expected to support Bihar’s long-term infrastructure expansion and broader economic growth objectives.
